How to Wear an Oversized Blazer: Five Ways from Relief AW26

By Natalie Kolyozyan

The oversized blazer has outlasted almost every trend around it, because it was never really a trend. A well-cut jacket with broad shoulders and an easy line changes the proportion of everything worn with it. In Relief, our Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, the blazer is where the silhouette begins: clean, architectural and made in Istanbul ateliers.

Here are five ways to wear one, each built from pieces in the collection.

1. Balance the volume with wide-leg trousers

An oversized blazer looks most deliberate when the trousers share its generosity. A high waist and a wide leg keep the line long from shoulder to hem. The Arcade Trousers, pleated wide-leg trousers in navy wool, sit naturally under a structured jacket. The Basalt Trousers do the same in black wool, with tassels at the hem that can be removed.

2. Wear it as a suit

Blazer and trousers in one fabric is the simplest way to look composed. The Arch Blazer and Arch Trousers are cut as a pair: an architectural jacket and wide-leg trousers with an embroidered hem. For evening, the Bronze Blazer and Bronze Trousers in black and copper metallic jacquard turn the same idea into something close to ornament.

3. Set something fragile against the structure

Tailoring softens when what lies underneath is light. Instead of a shirt, try floral lace, like the Tracery Lace Bodysuit, or black satin with a draped jabot, like the Onyx Blouse. The contrast between a strong shoulder and a delicate surface is one of the quiet tensions the collection is built on.

4. Keep a white shirt underneath

A crisp white shirt never competes with a good jacket. Let the cuffs show below the sleeve: the Marble Shirt has deep cuffs with enamel and gold buttons, and the Chisel Shirt adds a sculptural layered collar that frames the lapels.

5. Let one detail lead

With a blazer this strong, one detail is enough: gold buttons on black wool on the Basalt Blazer, a navy check and a gold charm brooch on the Slate Blazer, or green metallic jacquard on the Malachite Blazer. Keep everything else simple and let the piece do the work.

A piece to keep

We believe in permanence more than trends. A good oversized blazer is one you return to for years, reinterpreting it each time you wear it. Explore the full Relief AW26 collection.
