Relief AW26: Istanbul's Stone, Carved into Clothing

By Natalie Kolyozyan

Relief begins on the surface of stone. A carved capital, a worn marble step, a bronze door polished by time: each is a trace that hands and years leave on a surface. For Autumn/Winter 2026, Natalie Kolyozyan carries those traces into clothing.

A design language since 2013

Natalie Kolyozyan founded her label in 2013 with one aim: to create pieces with a language of their own that do not age. Good design, she believes, is quiet. It makes itself felt through the right silhouette, a good fabric and a refined detail. Her collections often begin with a story, an architectural detail, an old motif or the surface of a stone, and turn it into modern pieces for the way women live today.

The stones of Istanbul

The stones behind Relief come from Istanbul: the porphyry Column of Constantine at Çemberlitaş, the veined marbles of Hagia Sophia, the carved capitals of the city's cisterns. The collection gathers two thousand years of surfaces into a silhouette for today.

Surface and form

Each piece takes its name from a stone or a built form. Malachite, Onyx, Basalt, Travertine and Quartz speak of surface; Arch, Arcade, Column and Dome speak of form. Metallic jacquards rise like carving, as in the burgundy and gold Porphyry Cocoon Coat, while malachite and agate tones surface from within the cloth in the Malachite Blazer and the burgundy Agate Leather Coat.

Clean, architectural silhouettes

The lines are clean and architectural: broad-shouldered blazers like the Arch Blazer, long coats like the Travertine Coat and sharply pleated trousers like the Arcade Trousers. Between them, floral lace and jacquard appear like ornament carved into stone, in the Tracery Lace Blouse and the Fresco Trousers.

Palette and materials

The palette is navy, camel, espresso, burgundy and black. Leather, suede, denim, satin, knit and lace each take on a different depth under the same light. The entire collection is made in Istanbul ateliers.

Relief is about the moment a flat surface gains depth: when cloth catches the light and begins to cast a shadow. Discover the Relief AW26 collection.
